Three comedians, one family meal
In this story, Uronta Yoshida introduces himself as a member of the Japanese comedy trio Flamingo, alongside Takemori and Tsujimoto. He recalls a visit to Takemori’s family home, where Takemori’s dad was doing the cooking.
Homemade soba for three
I’m Uronta Yoshida from Flamingo.
The three of us in Flamingo get along really well.
One time, we went over to Takemori’s family home. It was our first visit. His dad liked to cook, and he’d gone all out getting a meal ready for us.
He even had all the proper tools for making soba—Japanese buckwheat noodles—and made us some from scratch.
“There’s tempura, too, so eat as much as you like.”
Of the three of us, Takemori and I are big eaters. We can really put it away.
Our third member, Tsujimoto, is tiny. But he likes to act tough. He never wants to look like he can’t keep up.
So Takemori and I were going, “This is really good.” “Delicious.” “More, please.” “More, please.”
And Tsujimoto joined right in. “More, please.” “More, please.”
After a while, Tsujimoto started panting. And the next thing I knew—BWAAARGH! He threw up all over the table.
Takemori’s dad was more shocked than mad.
That was one heck of a first meeting.
